The USW are pleased to announce that the Bottles Not Cans Boycott has now become an inter-generational initiative. Recently the National Graduate Caucus, Carleton University, the University of Ottawa, and the University of Western Canada have all formalized support in the form of resolutions to support the Bottles Not Cans campaign raising awareness for the struggle USW Local 9176 members are facing against Crown Cans. Other organizations such as the Canadian Federation of Students and other student unions are in the process of following suit. This is a great showing of solidarity and many of these student unions have reached out to use the Bottles Not Cans coasters jointly produced by the CFS and USW as well as having agreed to avoid using Crown cans in student run pubs and bars.
